REMEDIATION

For my remediation, I wanted to make my play “come alive.” Rather than having the reader simply read the script, I was aiming for them to be immersed in the dialogue. I admit I was also curious about how this script would play out in a live setting. After debating between a video and a table read (audio), I settled on a table read. I found the concept of doing a “read-aloud” interesting because readers could imagine their own version of the goddesses but still follow the same voice as a foundation for the character. I got together three of my friends to play the goddesses along with myself. After recording the final version of the table read, I added in some background “music.” Since my play takes place in a café, I found a restaurant chatter audio file. Next, I mixed the two files using Audacity, a free audio editor and ended up with my final product. Enjoy this rendition of my play!
